Hello lovelies!I know I haven’t been posting lately mainly because my cousins are over at my house and I’m too busy enjoying with them but I decided to do this post today as I can no longer wait to tell you guys about my bookish pet peeves and I would really love to hear from you about yours,so make sure to do this post or comment below!

Lets get started.

1.*Engrossed in a book*

Person : Hey!!What are you reading?

Me:A book.

Person:Oh okay!Have you heard what happened with bla bla bla bla……..

Me:GO AWAY OR I SWEAR TO GOD I’M GOING TO RIP YOU APART.

I mean, why can’t just people go away when they see We are reading a book or something? The ones who keep talking while I’m reading annoy the crap out of me

2.Different country,different covers.

I seriously don’t understand why can’t the cover of a book stay the same for all countries?I didn’t have a problem with that until this happened:

Australian covers of shatter me.

UGH.

3.Girl is beautiful but can’t fricking admit it until the boy says it like a 100 times.

WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH THAT?WHY CAN’T FOR ONCE A GIRL BE LIKE I ‘M PRETTY AND I KNOW IT!

4.Names I can’t pronounce.

This is really just me,I am so annoyed when I can’t pronounce a character’s name because When I read I kind of talk to myself in my head and when that name comes I’m like…’WHAT?’.So I make up my own pronunciation of that word and when I realise what it’s actually pronounced….

5.Book trailers.

What’s the point of those?I have watched a lot of those but always felt like it’s either stupid or the actors that are playing in the trailer are nothing like the book ones.

UM.NO THANK YOU?

6.Messing up the movie adaptation.

We all gotta agree on this right?I’m so so angry when the movie cuts out my favorite scenes!!!

For example,In the harry potter and the half blood Prince,Harry kisses Ginny when she comes out winning the quidditch match. It was soooo cute!In the movie, they share a awkward small kiss on thanksgiving day.

IT PISSED ME OFF.

7.MOMS IN BOOKS DON’T WHATSOEVER CARE WHAT THEIR KIDS ARE DOING?

I mean my mom asks a thousand different kinds of questions when I even leave the house.

8.Either too much information in the book blurb or a just two line description.

WHERE’S A PROPER SIMPLE PARAGRAPH TELLING LITTLE YET GRIPPING THINGS ABOUT THE STORY?

9.Whiny protagonists.

I don’t really need to explain this.

10.CREASED SPINES AFTER GETTING BACK A BOOK YOU LENDED.

WHY?WHY?WHYYYYYY DID YOU HURT MY BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope you enjoyed the post,I’m currently reading The Lux series so the next post I’ll do will be a mini series review of the same.

Keep smiling,keep reading.

  1. Oh yes… I can relate! Nattering at me when I’m engrossing… CREASING THE SPINE OF THE BOOK!!! Himself is a book lover and destroyer, in that he’s a great reader, but treats them badly… whiny protagonists… inattentive mothers… Great post:)

  2. Haha names I can’t pronounce is spot-on. It’s horrible because I’m so stubborn, I’m likely to keep pronouncing it wrong 😀

  3. Oh gosh, I definitely agree with you on most of this list! Especially the one with those clueless girls who always need a guy to tell them they’re amazing! I just need a confident female protagonist. Parents and family aspects are really an important part for me in reading especially with YA books, I hate it when parents are just at the background and are always clueless. I learned my lesson not to trust anyone in handling my books, so I don’t let anyone borrow my babies anymore. 🙂

  4. This made me laugh but I related to everything you said! I hate when I’m engrossed in a book and people start a conversation out of nowhere then they’re like “uhh hello?”..LEAVE ME ALONE!!!

I get jealous when covers for other countries look prettier than the cover of my country, I just wished they were all the same.

Movie adaptations…ugh, I can’t deal with them. Whiny protagonist, I feel like I see that too much in YA books. I wish the parents were more involved in these YA books because I know my mom was very strict with me and wouldn’t let me do not even half the things some of the characters get away with.

  5. #3! UGH. Who cares what the guy thinks? Also: beauty is all about someone’s strength and inner qualities. I hope ALL young ladies know you all ROCK and are AWESOME no matter what ANYONE says – boy, girl, teacher, frenemy, etc.

  6. Ugh I HATE when they change covers like that, WHY, it makes me want to cry at times ahah. And well since I’m French, don’t EVEN get me started on how and why they translate titles into French…the translation is usually so awful it makes me want to cry even more, hahaha. Great post! 🙂
