*I received this title from netgalley in exchange of an honest review*

Author: Christina Kilbourne
Publishing date : 13th August,2016.
Genre: Mental illness,YA.
My rating: 4/5

Goodreads summary: Anna has always been so level-headed, so easy-going, so talented and funny. How could anyone have guessed she wanted to die?
Anna is not like other people. For one thing, she’s been an accomplished artist since she was a preschooler. For another, she’s always felt like she didn’t belong: not with other kids, not with her family, not in her body. It isn’t until her grandparents are killed in a tragic accident, however, that Anna starts to feel untethered. She begins to wonder what it would be like if she didn’t exist, and the thought of escaping the aimless drifting is the only thing that brings her comfort.
When Anna overdoses on prescription painkillers, doctors realize she has been suffering from depression and start looking for a way to help her out of the desperate black hole she never thought she would escape. It’s then that rock bottom comes into sight and the journey back to normal begins.

Again,a book with a very informative summary.I’m so sick of those!Good thing I didn’t read the whole summary.I just started reading it.
So lets get to my review!

What I liked:

Ugh,reviewing this book is hard because I’m sure I haven’t read anything like this before.By reading the review you must have thought “huh, another one of those love driven mental illness books” but let me tell you something.
No,this book had NO romance, not even a kiss and that is what makes it different from others. It has three point of views:Anna’s,Anna’s best friend’s and Anna’s mother.I absolutely loved
That concept because it shows what your friends and family goes through when you are mentally ill,it shows their thoughts, their concerns and their fears of losing someone you love. The same incidents were narrated by all three in their point of views which made this book even more interesting.

The plot was amazing and the thing that I liked the most about the story was that even though it deals with heavy issues,it cannot  trigger depression (maybe anxiety),infact it gives a healthy message about getting out of depression and living your life the way you want to.

Anna’s character was rather different than other YA heroines we have. She was mysterious and quite but confident and kind at the same time.

The other characters were great and I loved all of them.I adored the way they supported Anna and didn’t get angry at her despite her weird attitude.Kyle was an amazing character!I loved how he held himself together when Anna was in the hospital and even when she came back,he never once made her feel uncomfortable.

What I didn’t like :

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like but I think the ending could have been a little more developed, strong and detailed.

Recommend it?
Absolutely!
